Who are you as a business?
We are a team of midwives and Naturopathic doctors offering home and water birth in SW Washington. Who are you as a business owner? Angela Beach-Hart, LM, CPM: Angela Beach-Hart became a doula in 2006 but was initially brought to working in the birth community through her massage practice. She saw the amazing benefits of massage throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum and soon found herself attending births as a doula. She decided to continue her career and became a midwife after graduating from midwifery school in 2013 at Birthingway College of Midwifery. She became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Licensed Direct Entry Midwife (LDM) in Oregon and a Licensed Midwife(LM) in the state of Washington. She gave birth to a sweet baby girl in April 2013 and even though she knew a lot about pregnancy and birth before going through it herself, she believes the experience has made her a better practioner in many ways. Although she has a lot of passion for homebirth she also enjoy working in the hospital as a doula and believes every woman has the right to choose how and where they want to birth. She uses her skills as a massage therapist to help make pregnancy, labor, and postpartum as manageable as possible and uses the skills she has learned as a midwife to help provide resources and education along the way! She loves supporting women and families through this amazing rite of passage and her heart goes into bringing education and support to those who need it. She looks forward to helping you along your journey! Adeline Kell, LM, ND: Dr. Adeline Kell is a Naturopathic physician and Midwife, licensed in both Oregon and Washington. Graduating from the four-year program at the National College of Natural Medicine, she also completed a two-year apprenticeship in midwifery and pediatrics and has had advanced training in homeopathy and botanical medicine. Dr. Adeline provides family naturopathic care, offering complete pediatric and women’s health services. She focuses on nutrition, homeopathy and botanical medicine to support optimum health in her patients. She sees patients in SW Washington in a beautiful and family friendly office centrally located just off I-5 in Woodland. Adeline shares not only her talented healing skills, but also her warm-hearted personal philosophy with every patient she has the privilege of helping. A driving force in Adeline’s practice is her commitment to spending enough time with each patient to understand his or her unique characteristics, symptoms and needs. Adeline lives on seven acres in SW Washington with her husband, their six children, and an assortment of two and four legged creatures. Alexandra Demetro, LM, ND: Dr. Alexandra Demetro is an ND & Midwife. Growing up with Finnish roots in the country hills of Battle Ground, WA, Alexandra formed a love of nature, herbs, and learned how to take the natural route with preventative health. It’s no wonder she came back to her roots and has a natural health clinic in Battle Ground where she see all ages and treat all kinds of conditions with mostly herbs, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. She does use prescription medications when necessary. Alexandra has been assisting in births since 1999 and graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, OR as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) in 2002. Before that she graduated from Western WA University with a degree in PreMedicine and Psychology. She is also a licensed Midwife (LM), and is trained in neonatal resuscitation, IV therapy, suturing, and vaccinations. She also does Women’s annual exams, IUD’s, bio-identical hormone treatments, tests for food allergies, does blood work-ups, and more. One aspect of her practice that she deeply enjoys is being able to get to know her patients from day one as their midwife, then as their pediatrician, and continuing care to keep the whole family healthy as their family doctor. She loved having her daughters Isabella (2002) and Lucia (2007) born naturally at home and hopes to offer similar experiences to you too! How did you choose the name and logo for your business? Are name represents exactly what we do! We serve families through pregnancy and birth, through baby care and beyond! Meaning that since we have ND's in our practice, care doesn't have to end at 6 weeks. We offer pediatrics and whole family care. What do you hope to do for the community where you operate? One of our main goals is to offer more options for families in Clark county! There are plenty of home birth midwives in Portland, but for some that can be a long drive and not super convenient! Families in SW Washington also deserve birthing options. Home birth is not for everyone, but everyone should have the choice to have that option. What have you done for your community? We have given families in SW Washington another birthing option. There are few home birth midwives who serve this area and who also have an office in the area. What do you hope that everyone who meets you understands about your business? We are a team of three midwives that work together. Although we are all similar in some ways and give similar care, each midwife bring something different to the practice and we believe our clients benefit from this. If you had the perfect client/customer/patient, who would they be? Low risk women, who are passionate about where and how they give birth. We also love serving large families. It is so fun to continue to stay in our clients lives as their family grows!
