Today's spotlight is on Stephana! She's a community member with a heart for health & wellbeing as well as the owner of Your Holistic Mentor and the author and creator of Yogilachi TRANSFORM: 101 Day Holistic Program of Optimal Mindset, Movement and Nutrition. We are so excited to have her at the event! Look for her presentation on how to restore safely (and effectively rebuild) abdominal layers after baby delivery at the Wellmama event!
Here's an excerpt from her inspiring and motivational blog: "HI! I’m Stephana (pronounced Stef On’ U like up) and the purpose of Your Holistic Mentor is to share stories and experiences of how to step off the main stream assembly line, integrate total well-being, and change the world by achieving personal goals while helping others at the same time. On the blog I share my reflections about life from a holistic perspective. HOLISTIC means WHOLE which is derived from HOLY. I don’t segregate or compartmentalize parts of life. I take in the WHOLE and that’s more than mind, body and spirit but we’ll use that to keep it simple. Here I’ll talk about how each part affects the other in a real life, real time as a homeschooling mom, wife, author, speaker, coach and business owner. I’m really interested in getting back to WHOLE food, real food and share a lot my recipes, fitness tips, health tools, relationships, and well…just about everything that goes into living life more WHOLE and keeping it REAL." Her raffle prize is a Yogilachi Healing Session- which is an opportunity to get a clear idea of what you need to do and where to focus in your life to become your best! Today we are featuring Birth & Family Midwifery!
Kathleen Wirtz, a well-loved and much-recognized community leader in birth & family care, has this to say: "At Birth and Family Midwifery we are happy to serve SW Washington and the surrounding areas with gentle midwifery care and full scope women's health services. Families are our focus and gentle, patient-centered care is our priority. Birth and Family Midwifery believes that women need to feel safe, supported and valued. Women want to make their own choices for care and know that those choices will be respected. They want to have their voices heard and their bodies treated gently. Birth and Family Midwifery is ready to assist you on your journey through womanhood and motherhood, all the while helping you feel safe, supported and valued." Connect with Birth and Family Midwifery on Facebook or at their website. Their raffle prize is a sweet print from local artist Katie M Berggren. It's gorgeous! Today we are featuring LifeOhm, LLC! Simply use the bracelet’s felt pads to diffuse essential oils at home or on the go!" Today's vendor spotlight is Baby Nest! They are a full service doula agency providing support for a positive birth journey. They believe that birth is better with support, comfort and education. We offer birth doula support, postpartum doula support, certified placenta encapsulation and classes to help bring empowerment and confidence.
Why encapsulate a placenta? Over 80% of new mothers experience some form of postnatal mood disorder after birth. Five days postpartum, a mother's hormones drop to the levels she had before conception. This dramatic drop in hormones can cause many severe emotional and physical changes for the new mother. This can impact her postpartum time with her baby, potentially in a negative way, such as experiencing baby blues and even worse postpartum depression. Placenta encapsulation is a natural way to prepare for postpartum and to support the most positive experience of transition into motherhood. For more info, contact Baby Nest via their website or Facebook Page. Today's spotlight is Mune Studios!
Mune Studios is the heart-centered work by the PNW metal maven mama, Chalea. She creates heirloom-quality silver jewelry by torch and hammer. Her charms sing with a beautiful melody when played with, and provide a wonderful tactile experience to help create lasting memories. As a parent, she tries to keep strength in mind when crafting her pieces and Mune Gear has been well received to-date by parents, grandparents, and other caregivers. It's also known fondly as “Mama Metal.” Her use of thicker chains are so little hands can wander up to play with the charms while worn by an adult, creating that twinkling noise we’ve come to know and love. The pieces have been fused with her torch, hammered, and hardened right in her kitchen stove (since there aren’t harsh chemicals involved). Amazing! You can check out her website, her instagram, or her facebook page to learn more, see sneak-peeks, and take a look behind the scenes. We sure love this local craftsmama, and her sturdy-but-gorgeous wearable art that sings when touched by babe. It really is special stuff! She has one of her unique pieces in the raffle. You can see it on the raffle table on the day of WellMama! Next up, we have a great new addition to the WellMama Vendor resources list! You will see their logo on all of our signs & fliers, as they've made a generous contribution to the running of our festival year after year! Family Chiropractic at Salmon Creek, Inc . aims to educate families about chiropractic in order to motivate them to take an active and responsible role in restoring and maintaining their own health as well as the people around them. Chiropractic works by restoring the inborn ability to be healthy. For a body to remain healthy, the nervous system must function well. For the nervous system to function well it must be free of interference. By restoring spinal function with chiropractic adjustments, nerve interference by misaligned vertebrae is removed, thus allowing optimal nervous system function and improved health. The “Family” in our name represents the desire to have people understand that chiropractic is for everyone – birth to grave. We chose the fish logo to tie in to our location near Salmon Creek. Attend WellMama to get a crack at it! Welcome to our very first vendor spotlight of 2017! Each day we will feature one of our amazing vendors who you can expect to meet at WellMama! Today we are featuring Krissie! She's a Pure Haven Essentials consultant, and does amazing things for our local community, as well as The MOB NW business networking group (who you will see featured as a Branded Vendor later this month)! We are so excited to have her this year- she has amazing and affordable healthy solutions for families' self-care. When we asked her about her experience with her company, she was happy to respond! Krissie says: "I first learned about the harmful chemicals common in mainstream products in our country the Fall of 2015 when I attended a conference for high school teachers. (I'm also a part-time high school health teacher). It was an especially important time for me to learn about what I now call "The Toxic Issue" as I had just experienced my first of several miscarriages. I was both angered and empowered by the information I learned. I learned that Europe bans over 1300 chemicals from personal care products that have been scientifically linked with disease and disorder and the US bans only 11. I had to change. I sought out SAFE products and found Pure Haven Essentials. As I became a loyal customer and learned more about the company's mission to educate families, I knew becoming a Consultant would be an awesome way to share my new passion. I've been in business just barely a year and have already helped 120 families decrease their body burdens! I've empowered over 240 people who have attended my public and private workshops with knowledge and resources to make safer choices when shopping for themselves and their families. I LOVE my job! My goal in this business is first to educate and then to offer safe, affordable alternatives that work! I also love sharing this business opportunity with people interested in working from home and training my team. Customer service is really important to me as well. I want my customers to know I have their best interests at heart, that I'll listen to their needs and give honest suggestions. I strive to create and share value-added content on my social media sites as this is just another way to spread this important health information! Pure Haven Essentials products are purposefully meant for anyone: men, women and children of any age, BUT, my favorite customers are young couples, newly pregnant or trying to get pregnant, who are open for healthy change and really want to make those changes for themselves and their future children. " Krissie has generously donated a raffle prize, featured below, which will be gifted to a lucky WellMama fan or attendee!
